UAE HAILED AS THE WORLD'S SAFEST NATION
After being
recently hailed as the safest nation in the world, the UAE has made another
noteworthy achievement this year. 96.1 percent of individuals said that they
felt comfortable going outdoors at night, according to authorities.
General
Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai Developers, noted in a statement that last year's national
agenda index was optimistic at all levels of safety and security, paving the
way for the country to be at the top in a variety of regions.
Lt. Gen
Tamim recently announced at a press conference to disclose findings at the
Intercontinental Hotel in Dubai Festival City that the survey found that 96.1
percent of people in the UAE felt comfortable and happy. He also reported that
the nation was first and that Singapore came second with 94%, adding that the
plans and initiatives of the UAE were behind the landmark to make it the safest
in the world.
As one of
the reasons for certain residents not feeling comfortable and comfortable,
Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant
Commander-in-Chief for Quality and Efficiency, cited the absence of signage or
lamp posts on the streets to spot police station positions.
He also
added that their leaders encouraged them to strengthen the sense of safety of
people, stressing that with many security measures and projects helped to do
this, the UAE has become a safe haven amid the downturn in safety around the
world.
Major-General
Shaikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Ajman Police Commander-in-Chief, emphasized
that the UAE is second to New York City in average response times to
emergencies. GPS in the patrol car response system, he said, has helped them to
reach the scene of collisions and incidents quicker than ever before.
Major
General Mohammad Saif Al Zafein, president of the Federal Traffic Council,
announced that with 3.83 casualties per 100,000 people in the UAE in 2018, road
deaths had decreased compared to 4.53 casualties per 100,000 people in 2017. He
noted that since 2008, when there were 13.5 deaths per 100,000 populations,
there has been a 71 percent downturn.
Commenting
on the tremendous decline in spite of many difficulties they encountered, the
General said they pooled all their resources to minimize the number of road
casualties. He went on to say that through the country's transportation
services, all traffic campaigns are now united.
In the
meantime, according to Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director-General of the
Federal Criminal Police at the Ministry of the Interior, the crime rate in the
UAE was also down, with the country landing on the lowest position in the list
of murders and kidnappings.
Brig Al
Amimi emphasized that, compared to 67.69 in 2017; the measure for violent crime
was 49.5 percent in 2018. He also noted that the Developers
in UAE finished first with 0.7 percent in the lowest rate of crimes
linked to homicides, 0.8 percent abduction, and 1.2 percent robbery.
The key to reducing response times for smart services
According
to Lt. Gen Dahi Khalfan, cutting-edge crime reporting strategies have paved the
way for reducing reaction times.
He noted
that they have launched an app that helps users to make reports or track crimes
using their mobile. Gen Khalfan also announced that over 4,000 incidents were
reported by individuals via cell phones, and all police station facilities are
now on the country's mobile phones.
